Important Events and Highlights
FICCI
"72 Annual Session" November 20th 1999,New Delhi-
This function was inaugurated by Ms Sonia Gandhi. Topic of meeting
"Propelling India into Global Leadership". Flowre decoration at dais and
podium and
bouquet
presentation to guest of honor was done by Flower r us.
Ernst and Young On September 22nd 2000 Taj
Palace, New Delhi Ernst and Young hosted the "2nd Entrepreneur of Year
Award Program". We at Flower r us were privileged to make our
contributions in flower decorations for this important event. We based the
flower arrangements on black white gold colour theme. Near the entrance
hall next to the company logo we erected black wrought iron stands with
varying heights of 3',4',5'. In them we arranged white carnation flowers
intermixed with gerberas and used gold colour sprayed fan shaped palm
leaves to give both depth and anchor to the arrangements. Next to the
stage we made 8' long horizontal arrangements, using black bamboo stems as
the frame work and used the same materials as outside to continue the
theme given almost a swirl pattern effect
on the floor. On the stage 40
tables were laid with black and gold tablecloths, where small vases with
white orchids and gerberas were placed. In the end the overall effect was
a dramatic one at the same we were sure that the ambience we achieved with
fresh flowers and pattern created a very soothing and welcoming atmosphere
for the guest of the occasion.
Marriage Ceremony
One of our biggest successes in marriage ceremony
flower decorations has been at Mr.Patnis daughter's wedding. Mr Patni is
the CEO of RK Marble Industries Rajasthan. On April 26th 1999 at
Rambagh Palace, Jaipur, we made flower decorations for lunch ceremony in a
very elaborate and grand marwari setting. The lunch ceremony called (name
-sajjangote) was conducted in a big long hall with 11 doors. White gaddas
were laid for people to sit and 200 chaukis were placed to serve food for
every individual guest. It was a designers challenge to decorate this room
in such a unique setting, as we used non traditional material
in all our
arrangements but kept the colour tones earthen wherever possible to remind
people of the deserts sands of Rajasthan. Against every door behind the
chaukis 6' tall symbedium purple orchids and lillium flower arrangements
were positioned with bamboo stems as supports. Two very large brass pot
arrangements were situated at the two corners of the hall. In the center
of the hall very low square arrangements in brass kartandans with bright
anthuriums and mokara orchids help create the colourfulness of a
Rajasthani wedding. Outside the hall the passage ways were bordered with
flower rangolis in drum and shahanai patterns. Near the lawns a bullock
cart full of wooden logs was used to fill flowers. The bullock cart
arrangement was an eye catcher, everybody who walked into the hall could
anticipated the festivity and colours of a Rajasthani wedding!
Gift Basket
As we all know Diwali is one of the most important and
widely celebrated Hindu festivals in northern India. Gift exchange these
days has become a major part of this festive occasion. People traditional
give gifts of Indian mithai, dry fruits to each other. Most places sell
these items in decorative baskets. We at flowers r us brought a new
dimension to these baskets. In 2001 for Max Group we catered an
order of 125 Diwali gift baskets.
Large Kashmiri wicker cane baskets with handles wer e
selected to fill them with a cornucopia of fruits, cookies and cashew burfis all individually wrapped in colourful cellophane paper. Along with
these treats we decided to place flowers as well. The idea to combine
flower
bouquets
and Diwali baskets had never been thought of either in the gift industries
nor in the flower business, we therefore met with great appreciation and
success for this assignment.
Design details of the basket: There were two ends to
the baskets the end that had the eatables and that had the fresh
chrysanthemums, carnations, drycina and asparagus leaves all arranged all
arranged in an artistic fashion. On the handle golden-sprayed cycus palm
leave was attached to give an attractive appearance to the basket.
Designers diyas and silver coins covered the trim of the basket and ribbon
curls were hung from the handle to complete the look of one of a kind
